Certainly smells like another 5 part regime change plan coming down the pipes from the conservative establishment.

Iirc 6 stories is roughly as high as you can build before price per floor starts to grow exponentially.

This is also assuming it wouldn’t have happened regardless.

America has been wrapping itself tighter and tighter in security theatre for 25 years.

Cory Doctorow highlights the issue in discussing “enshittification”.

Breaking out of these platforms individually is difficult due to the artificial communities that have been built on them.

Migrating whole followers/communities into new platforms if you’re a business/influencer, 100x harder.

It seems pretty silly now, but the protests against metric conversion were quite wild.

If true that would be quite the about face in a short time. Any chance someone used an AI dub?

The shadows and traffic does kinda suck, and will maintain high rises are the worst way out of things.

But when we can’t build for gentler density, the built demand will slam skywards backed by international investors and private equity.

It certainly feels like we’ve stepped on the gas towards the resource curse of late.

- In Ottawa, something like it could replace Line 2 of the O-Train

How about we don’t do that.

To what aim?

CIA involvement is pretty pulp conspiracy at this point, unless she’s cashing in on the movie rights I’m not sure where this is going.

It contains neither Edmonton or Calgary actually.

It might be a different ranking. Ottawa will swing pretty wild depending on the criteria.

They were not included or even considered for some reason.

Rapid densification along the Carling and Baseline corridors with a half-hearted commitment to rapid transit doesn’t really seem fair for anyone.

Would have been too small for consideration. Looks like they focused on populations of 250k+.

For anyone curious about cities that could have, but didn’t make the list.

I think Ontario is doing fairly well on this list considering Harris’s Frankensteining of Toronto and Ottawa definitely dragging us down on scoring.

Neither of those are even in the top 100 according to the report.

OC is also ironically speed limited because of this, due to the hard turns that were built to avoid serving neighbourhoods.

So we have boring route segments through parking lots, and a slower train because of it.

I think he’s been told to expect 2 or more Tories to cross the floor over the next week so compromise won’t be necessary.

Reform has fully taken the reigns across the aisle and it will shove out any remaining PC ideas.

Based on what we know of Subways food content standards, should that weapon even be classified as a sandwich?

Action Gatineau as well. While I can’t comment broadly on their platform from this side of the river, moving forward with a tramway was one thing that stood out.

More than anything I wish the lack of vision from
our premiers could be highlighted.

When asked for their ideas regarding “nation-building” projects, the overwhelming response was;

“Here are the patches of rocks we’d like to sell off.”
