If you think it's difficult to understand what she's saying by my writing, then that just shows how accurate the writing is. When us hicks want t' confuse y'all proper folks we manage jus' fine.

That editor would have an aneurysm reading anything I write. No two people speak exactly the same, and as such no two characters should, either. For example, my MC in a xeno short carries a folksy twang and I carry that through by dropping the vowels and gs as is appropriate.

Or, and here's an off the wall thought, maybe don't immediately assume someone you call a friend is just lazy and refusing to read, but understand that some of us have hidden disabilities and we need grace, not vague posts digging on how inconvenient we are shared to our entire friend group.

Or everyone should just wear a QR code with a link to their entire medical history to share so we can get a full outline of all our past trauma that might cause interacting with us difficult in the future. I didn't need bodily autonomy ten years ago, why need privacy now?

Maybe during the introduction phase? "Hi, I'm Bri, she\her, I was in an abusive relationship a decade ago that left me with a traumatic head injury so I'm functionally illiterate and might need you to clarify written instructions sometimes"? Needs workshopping 🤔
