I think a sequel was destined to happen. Robert Pattison is an in demand actor though and I can only see his stock going up so they need to nail him down for filming dates soon if they haven’t already

Paul Mescal is quite clearly miscast in this film but makes the most of his screen time. He certainly delivers on the physical side of the role but in quieter moments he doesn’t quite shine. Denzel is expectedly awesome, Pedro delivers a solid performance, I wanted to see more of the twin emperors.

I think it is a film that instantly dated itself and not only because of its washed out visuals. It will be jarring for audiences in as little as 4 years from now to have Deadpool addressing the camera with current fan critiques and in-jokes. An all round exhausting movie.

Gladiator II this weekend might throw a spanner in the works of my top ten. Still a lot of other films I’m hoping to see before the year is out.
