I just came here to say that "I had been going with a dim bulb in my room for the longest time" sounds like a great line from lyrics of a break-up song from some acoustic indie singer-songwriter. Dana, secret career you haven't told us about?

8 of 8/ In summary: There is still time, W, but barely - get your head out of your ass and make/get this right.

7 of 8/ It was nearly a decade before the now-successful NWSL was created after several unsuccessful fits and starts in between. It would be awful for women's basketball to have a similar "lost decade" because the energy wasn't all directed to a single, successful product.

6 of 8/ . . . And who knows when you can get it back again? Chances like the W has based on the past two seasons are not predictable and who knows when you get it back? Women's soccer was riding high after the '99 World Cup, but the WUSA formed from that energy lasted only 3 years. >>

5 of 8/ Moreover, as the leagues *try* to not schedule over each other (and there are still overseas leagues, too!) women end up playing year round, causing fatigue, lack of recovery, and injuries. Diluting the product this much just as it catches fire risks losing the moment >>
November 18, 2025 at 9:11 PM
4 of 8/ There aren't enough eyeballs, sponsors, broadcast slots, fan dollars, top players to spread that thin. The odds of any of the leagues succeeding falls, it is harder as a fan to find the games and players you want to see (like it isn't hard enough with the W's awful broadcast schedule!) >>
November 18, 2025 at 9:11 PM
3 of 8/ . . . to make players feel like partners created a situation where now everyone likely ends up losing. As strong as the growing market for women's basketball is, I have doubts it is strong enough for WNBA, Unrivaled, AU, Project B and NCAAWBB to all thrive. >>
November 18, 2025 at 9:11 PM
2 of 8/ . . . and how their badly missing the moment got us here. Rather than taking advantage of their leading position in a booming market for women's sports and doing things to build loyalty among players and fans, the W's unwillingness to invest, to share the revenues, . . . >>>

If there is no net profit projected in the term of the new CBA that is solely because the NBA got to arbitrarily assign an insanely low % of the new joint TV deal to the W.

I deleted X ages ago - please tell me Buckley got ratioed to hell and back. (and then to hell again, where he needs to end up.)

that escalated correctly.

The illogic is so weirdly transparent -- all you have to do is restate it to the inherent implication, "you should trust your health to non-experts," to hear how absolutely nuts it sounds.

"Straight" presumably being the operative word from Cathy's mouth. Tash would be great in the marketing.

certainly not if it had to pay its full share of infrastructure upgrade costs.

Actually i think we called 2000 and insisted they come pick him up.

I'm guessing she felt spit on. He looked like the Alien in the iconic picture next to Ripley's cheek.
October 11, 2025 at 2:16 AM
Yeah that felt a bit presumptuous. Could end up looking really bad.

Just imagine if Kate Martin had made the finals!

IKR? Napalming children doesn't seem like it was politically correct then or now. The limits we lived by (mainly not crossing the 17th parallel) weren't of weakness, they were a strategic calculation to avoid direct confrontation with China. Like how he avoids offending Putin in his Ukraine moves.

Christine not escaping those charges.

the definition in that arm is insane.
