My 1st starter also failed and I have no idea what went wrong. 2nd time worked!
Once I'd made a ton of loaves, I froze some and it worked even 6 months later! Save your leftover starter from each feeding in the fridge and once you get enough make sourdough buttermilk pancakes...they are BOMB!😋😛

When the pandemic hit, I learned how to grow my own sourdough starter, and after multiple batches, the last loaf I made last year, was this beauty.
It's a lot of work, but now I can make 1 round and 2 pan loaves in one go and it's so worth it!!
