A basic example of OpenAI not doing enough to protect their users would be: under "temporary chat" there's no warning "temporary chat" isn't currently temporary, despite the Arstechnica article stating "temporary" chats must be kept.
Temporary Chat This chat won't appear in history, use or update ChatGPT's memory, or be used to train our models. For safety purposes, we may keep a copy of this chat for up to 30 days. Arstechnica article: Before the order was in place mid-May, OpenAI only retained "chat history" for users of ChatGPT Free, Plus, and Pro who did not opt out of data retention. But now, OpenAI has been forced to preserve chat history even when users "elect to not retain particular conversations by manually deleting specific conversations or by starting a 'Temporary Chat,' which disappears once closed," OpenAI said. Previously, users could also request to "delete their OpenAI accounts entirely, including all prior conversation history," which was then purged within 30 days.

Misleading posts claiming Signal is vulnerable are getting thousands, if not millions, of impressions. This happens frequently, there are attempts to undermine Signal and scare users away from safety. Signal is one of the most secure apps ever made.

For me in New Zealand (not even in the U.S!), these images don’t even load + I had to use a direct link to access the account.

If it’s accurate Meta is intentionally or incompetently doing this to please an administration, the U.S. would be manipulating it’s networks to billions around the world.

I saw that too, I assume it’s a translation error. You can see in the right of the screenshot there’s Chinese characters, It may mean “clever” if this webpage is correct.

My relative bought a drone. The drone doesn’t fly without an account (which requires email verification).

I had to spend 30 minutes over the phone with them because the app’s login barely worked and their drone couldn’t be used. Wtf?

Meta obviously isn’t doing enough against this, and politicians are too busy pushing surveillance laws disguised as safety laws.
