I think the chapter I shared from Black Reconstruction is instructive...the most downtrodden class of people in American history fought and struggled to educate their children. Doesn't that universal desire to educate your children render the compulsory nature of schooling fundamentally benign?

Do you have examples of people dying on the street because they didn't send their children to school? More generally, why would you not want to send your children to school? And do children not have a right to be educated, regardless of what the parent wants?

Are you saying then that HBCUs are “education at gunpoint” that are “contrary to the human spirit?

you asked "can you show me where in American history this benevolent institution...existed?" and i answered with a specific example. if you think the schools that their descendants teach and learn at are "education at gunpoint" then i don't think you are particularly in touch with reality
