They’d need to increase the quantity of exports sure, but we know they have the capacity to do so. If everyone is getting hit with tariffs, but Chinese goods are already worth so much less, would that not drive demand for cheap Chinese goods? At the same time creating more jobs in manufacturing?

I’m not an economist, but I’m curious, if Trump follows through with his tariffs on Chinese goods, will this deflation cushion the blow to Chinese exports? If these goods are worth less on the global market, would that defeat the whole purpose of the tariffs? 1/
