Warum bist du dann hier? Viele verlassen doch gerade X, weil die Machtkonzentration auf einen Besitzer unserer Demokratie schadet. Weil Kontrollmechanismen in einem auf Kommerz ausgerichteten System versagen. Weil Closed-Source Logarithmen nicht einsehbar sind und sich der Kontrolle entziehen.

Na ja, warum bist du hier? Dezentral und open-source führt zu hochwertigen Produkten, wie z.B. "bluesky". Darum bin ich hier. Es führt zu Linux: Sicherer und sozialer, als Windows. Und es führt zu guten Produkten, wie Mastodon. Nicht umsonst verlassen viele Journalisten die Plattform X.

Ich fände besser: Das nächste X, das nächste Google muss dezentral und open source sein. Denn "open source" (als Eigentum der Menschheit) bedeutet "sozial gerecht". Und dezentrale Strukturen gelten als der beste Schutz im hybriden Krieg.

Ok, you are right. I remember, they had wrong "facts" in east Germany, the German Democratic Republic. Luckily I lived in west Germany where fact checking was well done. So... it was just only luck that I grew up well informed. (Sadly east-west conflict is still going on, nowadays in the Ukraine)

Yes, there was no way to verify the information we got. But otherwise, spreading wrong information was difficult without social media, so that there was fewer misinformation. We were forced to view news like "Tagesschau" and "Heute-Journal" which are still today the best sources for information.

When I was a child, we had no computer, no smartphone, no internet and five TV stations. We simply learned how to research information in a library and how to assess the quality of newspapers. I am not sure if those days with few information have been safer than nowadays with too much information.

I replaced amazon with local stores like otto.de and other small stores. I dont like worldwide stores like amazon or alibaba. Local stores have local products with fewer transport, fewer CO2 and its more data protection and more privacy in smaller stores.
