I can see how listening on surround in your house could really throw off what you’re hearing.

Ok. I can already hear the main difference. The sung harmonies are clearly spaced out more to fill in the stereo sound compared to how they were layered in the original mix. That tells me it’s heavily emphasized they want you to listen on headphones.

I’ll go and check both versions out right now.

Oh boy. It feels like there mixing for headphones in mind then which is a shame. I’m slowly moving away from headphone use when I’m at home so that’s a little worrying when I start to bridge into that.

For the most part I really like the Atmos mixes, but sometimes they absolutely miss the mark.
