The Blue Labour group certainly seems to have heard of it and are off one trying to advise Starmer that he can out-perform Reform by appealing to social conservatives as a net vote gain which is bonkers.

Yeah I think this is the problem. I think that having won the election, he is just assuming his advisors know what they're doing. While obviously they were able to win an election it does not automatically follow they can correctly advise on how to govern.

Basic empathy seems to have died in the last couple of decades for some people.
It also reminds me of something my mum once said in the car when some maniac ran a red light by racing past us that is observably true "why does the fact it's raining make people inside a car need to do things faster?"

I often find it incredibly sobering that I can vividly remember being a lot younger than both of my kids now are and it seems very weird to me.
