neat.. they kept amy's thing of focusing on prioritizing comparatively mundane matters of the heart over "plot critical" stuff, with that ending up being what allows the story, and our insight into it, to progress

were bringing it back. starting from the ground up, i like how they kept the 06 thing where sonic and amy kind of talk as if they take that they have eachothers back for granted, and they even played with it, nicely done.

i love the game's story, and i wouldnt want any of the overarching ideas to be replaced, but man, the game needs to be fully reanimated, redubbed in english, given a handfull of passes to both fix all the plotholes and stumbles, as well as rewrite the exact verbiage used, even in the jp script.

i dont think you can reliably point to a list of mainline games, everyone has a diffrent list, and it always boils down to "these are the real ones i actually care about for reals", wich most of the time disqualifies anything that isnt in a home console or fits with the design of contemporary games.

y tho? why do you look foward to it, and why are you all gooey about orbot and cubot, and home? who is this lost child and why did eggman build a soul? i kinda wish the game was actually about this instead of just shoving her to the side for the acient's plot.

one thing i will give frontiers, the ian artificial therapy yap actually feels appropriate for sage. it doesnt make her a terribly compelling character on her own, and im not convinced anything in the game really, does that, but the robot girl learning emotions works with with that habit of his.

one thing i like about how the koko are handled is that, to sonic, these are litlle more than reskined flickies. its knuckles amy and tails that truly feel a connection with them, and sonic is just a visitor helping them out with whatever it is they need, thats a nice structure.

the emerald dance is cute, it ran the risk of feeling artificial, but having the koko as backup dancers really sells the idea of this being a cute lil celebration dance, love the hearkening back to old cartoons and sonic's own title screens at the end too.

this is a problem that exists throughout the entire game, but these cutscenes really shouldnt be connected to the time of day system. you cant really sell "the heat of desert" for someone that happened to do this mission during night time, they really should have thought that through a bit more

aaaand we just drop that? why even bring it up?? sonic drains an oasis in the desert, one of the few ecological matters of consequence in the franchise since the entire point of lost world, and its just? set up for sonic feeling warm??
