I think this version of the software is going to grab a bunch of people who, like, had access to Adobe in grad school and haven't been able to justify an individual subscription since. (2/2)

I do a weekly hybrid Discord/coffee shop writing night with some friends. Most are writing novels, and I usually muck about with one of my game projects. Last week I spent the time poking the new Affinity and mentioned it to my friends, and they were all "holy shit, free vector software??" (1/2)

I mean. There's absolutely room in the games ecosystem for people who want to work in them but don't have their own big ideas for a system or adventure. Like, editing, playtesting, etc. Not being an auteur doesn't mean you can only be a fan. Though, being a fan is probably a good starting point.

The original Star Wars is full of throwaway little details like that. Nothing as pointed at the audience. But "Clone Wars" and "Kessel Run" evoke setting and give us room to imagine.

As much as the prequels are full of interesting ideas, I still kind of wish I didn't know what the Clone Wars are.

I don't remember 5E being that bad, compared to 3.X grappling. But to the toad you might as well be explaining Calvinism or the speed of light.

If the product is legal, payment processors should not be allowed to prohibit its purchase. That should just be a universal truth.

I wonder if it will be out of beta by the time I finish Final Fantasy Tactics.

These links take you to the old site and, at the moment, my login still works and I can still download the old installers.

I suspected it was going to be something like this when they started making v2 free on iPad in the lead up.

I've always loved this little phrasebook for new (Jewish) immigrants to New York. It's got Yiddish instructions on joining a union! (The right-most column is English transliterated into Yiddish).
