Had to go through the Editorial Board pinpointing to the publication guidelines. Got the strain in the end.

Once had the same argument with aomw guys from the US. Main result of a paper in Nucleic Acids Research was an E. coli strain to make extracts for SLiCE cloning (similar to Golden Gate Cloning and Gibson Assembly). Strain was commercialized after publication.

The additional task this year: isolation of bacteria that are able to degrade and utilize polysaccharides of macroalgae for our EU-project #iCULTURE

During steps 1 and 2 we got some really nice isolates with potent antimicrobial activity. And whilst fishing in the dark we also picked up some rally bright, luminescent guys. Back to lab, we are now doing the sequencing part to identify the biosynthetic gene clusters.

I really like reviewing for ASM journals. But since this is going on, I reply to all requests that I am not considering to review again until I ASM is clear about its position on this. Sad.
