Funny story, I played the demo way back on the Wii and I really loved it but I was so young that I completely forgot what it was called but I still had the areas engrained in my memory. It wasn’t until like two years ago that I rediscovered it and it completely blew my mind.

For me, the big difference between the two games is player expression. In Hollow Knight you always had to play how the game wanted you to or die trying. In Silksong, they give you a bunch of tools, a room full of enemies, and tell you to go wild.

I like Hollow Knight fine, but it doesn’t come close to being among my favourite metroidvanias personally.
