OOOH, this is the first im learning you can cancel backdash at all lol. I'm going bed so I'll try another time, but is it cancel into a jump first or just into a TK input?

Looks like I'm way further out when i backdash? It's like we're playing different versions what 😭😭

You need to back dash?! 😭😭🙏 yeah I'm definitely close enough

How do you get the air throw to connect? I'm just whiffing over him at like +22 lmao

That's fair, still depends on the game tbh, fighting games are quite diverse. As long as you can push the same buttons alot, you may be able to do away with complex or fast movements

Oftentimes, fighting games are more about calculated Rock Paper Scissors than fancy execution. I say give it a go !!

Mostly, the controller makes the sound. I may gently tap buttons on my stick, but it sounds like bombs are going off. Hands are fine, though. Newer games have been considering accessibility when designing input systems. GBFVR, T8 and SF6 have options for 1 button moves, to avoid motion inputs

SF - Rose
Darkstalkers - Felicia
Tekken - Panda
SNK - Hotaru Futaba
ArcSys - Dizzy
SNK - Rock Howard

Also presents good opportunities to learn more advanced concepts, which will help to learn less accessible fighting games later, it's the perfect gateway fighting game

Good, better this way lol 🙏

No designs from me, but a hip hop character with a rekka you input to a particular timing for some sort of benefit would be cool? Heavy metal grappler with headbutt normals and high pushback on attacks (maybe guard crushing?)? Shoto/puppet classical character with ludicrous inputs but high rewards?

Reminds me of when friends start shaking forwards and backwards, far out of strike range, in neutral, because they saw Daigo do it, but have no other plans lmaooo

Just lock in fr fr. Do you have an idea what your next steps should be to improve?

Rollback and crossplay, game has Terry, Mai and then Ken as DLC, using MoTW mechanics and it looks and sounds wonderful. It will be heartbreaking if they manage to mess this up lol. I think people are gonna talk about the game for a while when this beta drops 😈😈

Hopefully one to last a while !!!

I actually do also compete, and I low-key agree when it comes to my peers. My assumption was that this was more broad, haha. I still maintain that a player chooses what they want to play, but avoiding MUs and competing is kinda loser mentality imo, you can't duck in bracket 🫣
February 10, 2025 at 10:03 AM
Don't talk to me like that, I'm just engaging in a conversation. I actually don't avoid MU, but not everyone learns or enjoys a game the same way. I did read the rest of the thread and my opinions haven't changed
February 10, 2025 at 9:47 AM
No no, "you aren't playing the whole game then." The whole game is also not technically played unless you learn every character on the roster yourself. Avoiding a MU doesn't take away from the value of the game, it just let's you focus on MU you do find enjoyable/useful
February 10, 2025 at 9:44 AM
I don't think that's necessarily true, but we also don't need to agree. A lot of people play fighting games strictly casually, or may prefer to at least learn the game through MU that aren't depressing first, then play the bad MU later, if they plan on getting very good at it

This is a half truth. I encourage anyone to learn their struggle matchups and treat them like any other, if it's a game they play regularly. But also understand that if the game is played for fun, and you don't find a matchup fun, it makes total sense to just not play that matchup, you know?

I would just try and not understand the behaviour of your opponents on the other side of the screen. If you figured them out and they couldn't handle it, I say you got your victory, regardless of the rank points result. Do you ever ping or ask for games from friends/Discord? Way more fun imo
