Given my lukewarm response to BWV3, I wasn’t sure these more introspective cantatas would be for me. But 'Bleib bei uns' is anchored in a story where the symbolism (and, if you’re into it, the doctrine) flows from a very human place: grief, doubt, and a quiet yearning to believe in light again [7/7]
