Oh my gosh, how weird—one of the poems I submitted for this edition is called “The Maker-Uppers” but I hadn’t seen this when I wrote it!! 🤣

Ah yes, nothing like being a creative and being asked to do things for “exposure”.

If I’m going to expose myself in any form, I’d like payment thanks.

My deepest desire is that this book gets picked up in the USA because turkeys aren’t loved over here the way that they are in the States!

So many turkeys.

Too many turkeys for the children in the story 🤣

An excellent amount of turkeys if you love turkeys 🦃

Wish I could say that this was a “gotcha” but it was a genuine mistake.

Still, Arial though.

Ah yes, you’re correct. I was using Calibri for something else just before I wrote this caption 🤦‍♀️

Yes. Interestingly, I just read an essay by Philip Pullman which was based around the question of whether it’s “allowable” to have a Christian reading of His Dark Materials, and essentially his answer was “It’s not my job to tell people how to read my book—it’s my job to write it.”

Yeah, as a kid I can see that. I remember feeling shocked to discover as an adult that I had read and loved them for years and yet no one had ever mentioned it to me. But by then I was too old to feel spring on, I think. Bemused, surprised even. But not undermined or tricked.

Oh, I can understand that if you found out as a child. I assumed you meant that you’d discovered it as an adult (as I did).

Do you really feel like Jesus was sprung on you? I don’t feel they’re written to convert people. The fact that they allegorical doesn’t detract in my mind from the stories themselves.
