Dear God, I can testify that medical assistance saves lives. Because of OHP I have healed and can work. It’s more costly in so many ways to let people fall through the cracks. Because I had assistance, I no longer need assistance. This is how a civilized country works.

Can we afford to give up? There is no easy answer. Perhaps rationality is not the antidote to manipulation and dark psychology. There is always a way though. People can heal and change and it is contagious.

It’s tempting to vent and point fingers but we are all suffering together now. Did we do a good job of reaching people? Did we listen to their fears and their needs? Did we tell the stories that can help folks move beyond prejudice? Eyes on the prize. Division won’t get us there.
