In last night’s @jeffcomoms.bsky.social September meeting, we learned how to write compelling letters to the editor to convey values, problems, solutions, and actions. And, we had a very special guest, Representative @pettersen.house.gov, who said a few words as well. Thank you for being there!

Thursday, I attended @everytown.bsky.social’s “Before and After: The Life Cycle of Gun Violence,” where we heard from veterans as survivors, doctors, law enforcement, and politicians, on the impact gun violence has on our communities. I also got to meet @ferrellzabala.bsky.social!

This past weekend, I attended the @giffords.org Gun Owners for Safety Regional Training & Workshop Retreat in Dallas, Texas, learning about our mission for gun safety legislation. It was great to network with other responsible gun owners, including meeting @gabbygiffords.bsky.social.

Saturday at Future Fest, an event celebrating Denver’s youth for their community contributions, I volunteered for Colorado Ceasefire where we gave away free gun locks, safes, and material. Every youth I spoke to had been in an active shooter drill; it broke my heart but reminded me why I do this.

Last night, I saw a screening of “Columbine 2024: 25 Years of Trauma,” a documentary featuring one of the teachers there, Kiki Leyba, and his wife, Kallie, regarding the enduring trauma from the aftermath. Gun violence affects not just survivors but their loved ones as well. www.columbine2024.com

Volunteered at the Colorado Democratic Party State Reorg Meeting on Saturday for Colorado Ceasefire, the longest-running grassroots GVP org in Colorado, providing education, outreach, and legislative advocacy since 2000. Attendees wanted to learn more about GVP, bills, gun locks, and safe storage.
