NBA City series part 7/30 - New York Knicks

What is NYC known for? Central Park, Lady Liberty, Finance capital of the world? Nope. PIZZA🍕

Inspired by the Pizza capital of the US, this piece takes shape as a literal pizza box. You notice Papa John’s got a new name & logo? 😂

NBA City series part 6/30 - Miami Heat

Inspired by the bright, warm coastal feel of the Sun on your back at Miami Beach (without going down the stereotypical route of 80s retro Synthwave!) Can’t go wrong with orange and teal!

NBA City series part 5/30 - Boston Celtics

Inspired by Boston’s Irish roots and celtic art, I went for a slightly different take. Athlete photography taking a backseat for typography in order to tap into an “Irish brewery” feel.

NBA City series part 4/30 - Orlando Magic

Inspired by Disney movie posters! With Disney World being so close to the Kia Center, it just felt right to lean into the movie magic feel for this one. You might even spot the iconic Disney castle bottom left ✨

NBA City series part 3/30 - Chicago Bulls

Inspired by Chicago’s architecture. You might spot the spiral stairs in The Rookery, Stained Glass in the Cultural Center and the famous Chicago Theatre sign.

Recently, I shared part 2 of my NBA City Series. Here's an unfinished idea I explored vs final outcome.

This idea was incohesive, confusing (whats up with that lightning?!) and the palette wasn't working. Reminder that taking a step back can offer new perspectives.

NBA City series part 1/30 - Brooklyn Nets
Inspired by Brooklyn street art, this piece utilises a custom grid pattern featuring subtle refs to the Brooklyn bridge & East river that connects Manhattan & Brooklyn. You'll also notice the BKN mark; a nod to iconic subway signs in NYC.
