I wish books had an ownership history, like the old library slip in back. So I could thank the person who came before and made perfect highlights and margin notes (and corrections). I've collected a few gems like that over the years that made absorbing and referencing the material all the easier.

Go read a banned book -- or read all of them! Check one out from your local library, borrow (read or listen) from libbyapp.com, buy it on BookShop.org (bonus: support small shops over Big A).

Anybody else have a #ThriftBooks problem? I periodically pick up used random/classic tech books and have quite a stack of them now. This is the first time I've received a copy signed by the author (who is apparently a real toolbag, but has a storied Unix/Linux history so I'm curious).
