Those people can apply for the jobs then. Why shouldn't they get properly paid at the rate for the job? Presumably you aren't happy with NHS Consultant pay either? They are all taxpayers too Cleetus.

I cannot see the case for fireworks to be on general sale. one of the safety rules for sparklers is to hold them at arm’s length, or a metre. We give them to small children!
Fireworks should only be sold to licensed professionals, used at professional displays & £1,000+ fines for breaches

I'm pretty sure that it's partly because the rise in the minimum wage hasn't been matched by the maintenance of differentials. Minimum wage increases often simply reduce the additional benefits payments, thus no real increase, whilst everyone else gets nothing.

Given that the programme wasn't broadcast in the USA, I suspect he might find that a tad difficult - but won't let that stop him at all.
