I'm watching the game in a hospital room with a sick toddler, so my older boy is at home watching with his uncle who used to live out west. I don't think this ending was a coincidence.

This is where I see contact made with the stick as he is hacking downward. This angle sucks, and it's a fast motion so the image is blurry (and then digitally zoomed as well) but to me the stick looks barely above his waist.
