Conservation organizations don’t always agree on every policy or management practice. But there is one issue we are unequivocally united on: Congress should not be in the business of selling off public lands to the highest bidder.

Getting kids outdoors in Arizona isn’t always easy. But the payoff is huge.

Out here, kids build confidence scrambling over rocks and grit crossing creek beds. The outdoors teaches our children responsibility, resilience, and respect — for nature and for themselves.

Think Arizona’s too dry for frogs? Think again. This species thrives in madrean evergreen woodlands and montane forests, foraging after rains, climbing low trees, and laying its eggs in underwater vegetation. This species is also our official state amphibian.

💭Any guesses?

Let's be real clear: the proposal to sell off millions of acres of federal public land, including in AZ, was a rushed, vague, and unprecedented attempt to bypass public input. YOU emailed and called your lawmakers. YOU stopped it.

Thank you!!!

Happy National Pollinator Week! 🦇🐝🌷

Want to give pollinators a boost? Try to:
🌸 Plant native, nectar-producing flowers
💧 Include a small water source (like a shallow dish
with pebbles) so pollinators can safely drink.
🏡 Leave some bare soil for bees who nest underground

Last week, lawmakers introduced a provision in the Senate budget bill that would require the sale of ~2-3 mil acres of public land over the next 5 years.

In Arizona, about 14 mil acres meet the criteria for sale, including places like Mt Lemmon, Sabino Canyon, and Madera Canyon.

The Senate’s trying to push public land sales through again — including parcels in AZ.

There are already laws to sell public land; laws that require public input and careful review. This is not that. This is rushed, reckless, and vague.

119 years ago today, the Antiquities Act was signed into law, giving presidents the power to protect public lands as national monuments. Since then, it’s been used by leaders on both sides of the aisle to safeguard the places that define who we are as a people.👇
