okay interesting. so top-level original posts are bridged but replies aren't, and likes/reposts are handled as if i was actually in the bsky app. still very fun regardless

and like this does actually make sense because of federation with misskey instances and specific masto instances dedicated to art and pixelfed and whatnot but still. kind of fun

other than that i mean it's just like any other social media. can't complain. way more artists than i expected (i mean i knew artists were a given but i'm Running Into a lot more of them than i expected)

i think the only real thing that gets me about mobile fedi clients is that they list replies like their own posts instead of as part of a thread. which is kind of maddening but if you turn off replies on your timeline it's manageable. just click on the post to read replies instead

and the software i'm hosting has POST FORMATTING SUPPORT. which makes ALL the difference

other than that this hasn't been bad tbh. it's nice to see 0/200000 instead of 0/500 or 0/300 whenever i open up the post composer

i have learned a lot but nothing more so than realizing how bad the internet connection actually is in the basement of my house where i reside (<-buying a usb wifi adapter to see if that gets me anywhere)
