he turns immediately, eyes widening in recognition of the handkerchief offered.

"oh... it is not like me to leave that behind. thank you for returning it to me, orion."

he takes it carefully, strokes a thumb over the delicate stitching, and smiles softly.

"beautiful, is it not?"

he hums at claude's pick, putting on the coat. the materials are excellent - he immediately feels a lot warmer.

a silky golden tie is chosen to match, and he adjusts it while turning to claude.

"how does it look?"

"... it is a large closet, and i have my favourite pieces. if there is anything you would like for yourself, you need not ask for permission to take it."

his usual daywear is soft and comfortable, whereas most of the clothes here are formal and fitted - only suitable for certain occasions.

"perhaps the lion. is that an obvious choice? what is your favourite bird?"

"my favourite animal? ... i'm not sure. there are those that provide us with meat when we are hungry, or predators with physical prowess, or... if you are asking about cats or dogs, then i am fond of both."

his head tilts in claude's direction, breathing him in before exhaling with a sigh. the scent of him helps to soothe his nerves.

"yes, slightly... but it is not the first time i am giving a speech of this kind, so i will be alright. would you like to help me get dressed for it?"
