Playing it as a kid, Rydia was so empowering to me. She struck me as so brave and assertive. Then she's the second most powerful character and is super dismissive of Edge, which is great.

I don't agree. Celes:
- abandons her life and military career because she begins to feel the empire is immoral
- apologizes to Terra for not preventing her torture
- struggles with *suicide* and regains the strength to continue on in post apocalyptic world
