I had a good and much needed sleep, got up, made myself presentable and did some research before I left so I wouldn’t be wandering aimlessly. I decided to make my first stop at the Citadel National Historic Site. Now I’ve been avoiding museums and the like for this trip as I find it gives me a fishbowl feeling. Everything is….sterile.

You know that elusive obvious that occurs sometimes? Yeah, that was me, not even realizing that I would have issues finding parking, navigating the streets with loads of people for the parade, and also limited to what would be open during holiday hours.

I asked for my usual but with an extra shot. They gave it to me hot instead of cold, but I got to keep both.

Once I got on the road it was a very short time before I was in New Brunswick. Funny, as soon as I crossed the border it was like, suddenly people knew how to leave space in between cars again.

I knew it would be. I had several errands to run, namely the car's cabin filter, but also food & laundry. First, I headed to Bumper-to-Bumper after saying my goodbyes to the campsite owner and leaving a business card. I lucked out and the mechanic, Matthew, spoke good English and noted my relief. He had a look and put a new filter in.

Here are a list of eight books I read in 2025 related to travel to help inspire me on my cross Canada journey. Most of these had value to take with me while a couple wasted my time. The McCandless Mecca: A Pilgrimage to the Magic Bus of the Stampede Trail By Ken Ilgunas and Josh Spice 4/5 This is probably the shortest book on the list at just 80 pages, and I actually commend the author for this because there’s another book on here that pads out an otherwise simple concept with fluff.
