we do meet again

Since then, he'd slowly been growing nature and plants around it, giving it the chance to become a natural haven for plants to live. It worked quite well; so well in fact, the plants took over the walls and ceiling. A part of it nearly collapsed on top of him, but lucky as always, he wasn't hit.

It's not like this place was destroyed in warfare, that's not even close. It's just... inactive. Reclaimed by the vines and nature.

It's only been months, though... how could this have happened?

Well, that'd be the boy's doing. He claimed the building as his the moment it was given up for free.

At least three or four years, he concludes. About a year ago, this place was bustling, he remembers it clearly. A few pedestrians here, some cars whizzing by over there. He walks past one of the more popular areas during that time, now reduced to nothing but a monument of abandoned rubble.

The boy walks across the road. No need to rush, no car has traversed these roads in weeks, months even. There's no point to it. This town isn't anything more than a bad omen to live in.

Then again, how long has it been since his family moved here? It's been quite a while... he knows that for sure.

The dark sky expands with grey clouds that cover the sun's descent over the horizon. The neatly placed pinks and purples overtaken by the underlying feelings of emptiness and solitude.

"How long has it been?" he asks himself, looking to the crosswalk light. It's broken. "Not a single soul."
