I'd totally try it if I still had an mx master 3 😭 rn I'm rocking a wlmouse beast x mini pro (really rolls off the tongue) and I like its ergonomics *enough* I mostly got it because it's a magnesium alloy and I like my mouse feeling like metal instead of plastic but still being 34g in weight :3

right now it only works for purely saturated lights, but I plan on improving it and making it work with arbitrary colors when I finish some actual spectral rendering stuff. Here's a bit more of a breakdown!

a cool demonstration of this is monochromatic lighting of hues beyond just pure red, pure green, and pure blue, which is something that you can't do with naive RGB based rendering

rendering caustics 3 times for the RGB channels is 3 times as expensive, so rendering it for a continuous spectrum of colors *would* be veeery expensive if we stuck to this method. instead, I render stretched/anisotropic photons and map the entire spectrum onto them.

(very old buggy scuffed WIPs)
