Isn't that pretty much what every politician does? We're going to spend more and not raise taxes. Or we're going to tax less and not cut spending. And everything will be great!!!

The number one reason learning is terrible are charter schools, private schools paid for with taxpayer money, and homeschoolers who accept thousands to educate their kids. NOT ALL OF THAT IS ALWAYS BAD!
But we can't fail or discipline kids without parents threatening to take kids $$$ somewhere else.

I don't disagree with you, but is there a name out there who a huge chunk of the democrat base that won't refuse to vote for?
November 16, 2025 at 2:43 PM
They are not wrong...he is the front-runner right now. No one else's name comes up.
Of course the front-runner today probably won't be the front-runner in 12-24 months.

I hope Andy Beshear steps up. Although I am sure much of Bluesky would not be happy with him, lol.
November 16, 2025 at 2:42 PM
LOL, not me. Cancelled Hulu and Disney and haven't missed them at all. Netflix is the next to go after I finish Dark Winds.

The one thing I rarely see mentioned is that data centers pay lower rates than homeowners and other industrial customers (probably-because they don't let anyone know).
Fine, build the data centers. But make them pay the market rate for their electricity.

Every Republican needs to be asked whether or not they will be OK with the next Democrat deciding who the shutdown applies to.
IMHO this is actually good. The Republicans will not be able to hold the country hostage every few months because the Dem President will keep paying whoever he wants.
October 24, 2025 at 1:02 PM
Moderate Republicans need to know that we will be paying all of these wronged people once normal people take over, and it's going to cost a lot more later than ending this today.
Moderate Republicans care about money, so they may understand that framing.

Cancelled Disney Plus & Hulu...the thing is, I have been planning on cancelling for years, but just too lazy. Hopefully the folks like me who were just paying without thinking all cancel and Disney wakes up a tiny bit.
September 21, 2025 at 3:56 AM
Happily canceled my Hulu and Disney today...
September 19, 2025 at 2:44 AM
This is great...either citizens will vote for Dems to restore the process or they are fine with having things taken away.
Should really tell us if there's a chance of this state ever moderating.

I agree, although if that free speech is evil and someone kills you for it we're not obligated to mourn.
I feel bad someone shot him, I feel bad the violence continues, I am not sorry an evil person is dead. I feel the same way I'd feel if Putin was shot dead.
September 12, 2025 at 12:20 AM
You're blocked because the far left can't handle hearing anything that minimally challenges their thinking. Really, get rid of the far left and most of the right and we can have an incredible center-left country. Please run as a centrist Democrat.

I won't put up with the evil over there, and won't accept making Musk even one penny richer. I absolutely miss reading some of my favorite follows that haven't migrated to bluesky.
If my livelihood depended on the eyeballs from Twitter, I'd stay. And Bluesky is pretty much a boring echo chamber.
August 23, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Yes, I agree 100%.
2027 is going to be insane as trump and the Republicans deal with the word no.
July 3, 2025 at 12:25 AM
this has been my question for a little while...assuming the Dems retake the House, how much hardball will they play to get a little say in these matters. Like, shut the government down level, or just whining?
July 2, 2025 at 4:10 PM
2 years from today there's a great chance that Democrats will run the House and then they can demand changes...of course they need to be willing to actually negotiate rather than roll over.
July 1, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Ya know, I get so many emails from Dems asking for $$$. Not a single cent until you quit whining and start doing something.

Billionaires shouldn't exist, but not because of taxes or government overreach. Billionaires shouldn't exist because workers should demand better pay and stock options so they can participate. Instead of one billionaire with 100b, we can have one guy with 900 million and 30,000 folks with 10 million
June 30, 2025 at 3:03 PM
Man I would love Pete but there's no way Americans are voting for a gay guy married to another gay guy.
Sucks but that's the truth.

I don't know of any curriculum that has LGBTQ stories in it. And granted, I don't know every single school curriculum. I see this more of a situation where a student does a presentation on a book and families that are afraid can have their kids sit in the library or hallway during it.
June 28, 2025 at 3:21 AM
easy fix if Democrats are will to do it...they just need to win some elections.
June 27, 2025 at 4:27 PM
this doesn't seem odd to me. We have had Native American kids opt out of stories about snakes and we have had Jehovah Witness kids opt out of holiday and birthday celebrations and we have had all sorts of kids opt out of the Pledge of Allegiance.
How is this something new?
June 27, 2025 at 4:05 PM
It's words! When asked if he likes capitalism the obvious answer is "of course, it's the best, we just need to make some changes", not no. Americans are dumb. Tell people what you want to do but call it a name that Republicans won't use against you.
June 27, 2025 at 6:00 AM
the number of people who even know that the wealthy pay a lower rate on capital gains than they do is small. Democrats should be talking about it all day long. That, and the other ways to delay ever paying taxes on stock gains.
