I’m an attorney. Yes, I’ve been to both prisons and immigration detention centers. Our government knows we need migrant labor but doesn’t want to issue enough visas because they make great scapegoats. And you’re buying the BS. It’s the billionaires, not the poor, that you should worry about.

Most immigrants’ only offense is not having a visa—that shows we don’t issue enough visas, not that undocumented immigrants are inherently criminally minded. They commit fewer crimes than natural born citizens. You’re literally more “endangered” by the Americans around you than by the undocumented.

11/22/63 is a great one for someone who doesn’t love horror. And if you want to read a book that has some horror but also an amazing coming of age narrative arc, consider It.
