Ok apparently we have a real leak of the #Dbacks new City Connects.

I prefer the previous versions with the ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS on it. I’m not really a fan of these.
A dark purple baseball jersey with vertical stripes of snake scales that resemble a pinstripe pattern. The torso and sleeves are two different shades of purple to give the torso a vest-like look. On the front of the jersey in teal cursive script is the Diamondback’s previous City Connect “Serpientes” logo. The sleeves feature a modified Arizona flag that uses two different shades of purple with the star replaced by a purple and teal Diamondbacks “A” logo. The sleeves end with a teal alternating triangle pattern like the profile view of a diamondback rattlesnake’s distinctive scale pattern

So it seems like these are prototypes for the new #Dbacks City Connects.

I…really dislike them. Huge swing and a miss going for dark on dark. Feels a lot like the Tigers horrible city connects.
The torso of the jersey is purple, gradient from the iconic, traditional purple of Dbacks past down to an eggplant color. There’s a vertical snakeskin pattern that’s broken up to look like pinstripes. The sleeves are a dark eggplant color as well to give the appearance of the torso being the iconic vests they wore in the 90’s/early 00’s. The ends of the sleeves have a teal/turquoise alternating triangle pattern akin to the side profile of a diamondback rattlesnake. The torso features teal text with lighter accents in the same alternating triangles design that says “ARIZONA”. The ends of the A’s hang down like fangs. Under the ARIZONA in a teal box background is “DIAMONDBACKS”. This is meant to evoke the original uniform logo that had DIAMOND with the D’s hanging down above a box that said BACKS. One of the sleeves features a modified Arizona state flag. The central star is replaced with a purple “A” logo outlined in teal. The blue and yellow parts of the flag are that dark eggplant or black while the red stripes making the sunset are a medium-dark purple.

I do really think that we need to be building more smaller, compact houses or row homes, similar to what this developer did in Arkansas.

Especially in areas served by public transit. Bring back the streetcar suburb!

Everyone’s kind of familiar with the Swiss Guard’s ceremonial uniforms. Other members of the Guard, like musicians or officers, wear different, increasingly ornate, uniforms.

I really hope the new rumored purple city connects are along the lines of the old purple jerseys
Arizona Diamondbacks alternate home uniform from 1999-2022 featuring a solid purple jersey with a 3D looking dark teal “ARIZONA” outlined in copper on the front. The front also features a white outlined copper player number. The back of the uniform has the same white and teal outlined copper player number and player name. The sleeves end with a band of alternating teal and black triangles, like a diamondback rattlesnake’s scale pattern. These jerseys were paired with an all purple hat featuring the teal and black A logo from the time period. The pants are cream colored with purple pinstripes and featured purple socks and belt.

Apparently the Orioles are going to have a full orange, kind of retro, alternate uniform this year.

Makes me wonder if the Diamondbacks will bring back one of their original uniform combos to replace the “serpientes” City Connects?

I found it.

Unfortunately the directions are specifically for using a kitchenaid mixer with a dough hook. You can probably replicate without a stand mixer, it just might take longer and be more painful a process.
My mom’s bread recipe part 1/4 Ingredients: 1.5 cups of very warm water (almost hot to touch) 4 cups of King Arthur (or other brand tbh) bread flour, plus some for dusting 1 Tbsp kosher salt 1 Tbsp yeast (approx 1.5 packets of yeast) 1 tsp sugar 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil (gives bread a buttery taste) Instructions: Combine flour and salt in a bowl and set aside. Grease another bowl with a little bit of olive oil. This bowl should be large enough for the dough to double in size. In your mixing bowl, add sugar and hot water. Swirl to dissolve the sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top of water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes so the yeast will soften and start foaming. Includes picture of yeast mixture in metal bowl that has begun to bloom My mom’s bread recipe part 2/4 continued Add the extra virgin olive oil to the yeast mixture. Add about half the flour/salt to the yeast mixture. Mix with a dough hook attachment on the mixer’s stir or lowest setting for two minutes. Increase mixer speed to next setting. Start to add flour little by little — mixing for 1-2 minutes before adding more flour. The dough will start to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Keep adding flour until the dough no longer sticks to the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl (you may need to use more than the original 4 cups). Mix for another 1-2 minutes. Includes pictures of the yeast mixture and first half of flour at the beginning of the mixing process where it still looks soupy and a picture where it’s starting to form a ball of dough on the hook but still slightly sticking to the sides of the bowl. My mom’s bread recipe part 3/4 continued On a lightly floured counter, knead dough into a ball by hand until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky. Place dough ball in greased bowl and turn it over to coat both sides with oil. Cover loosely with plastic wrap to allow dough room to rise. Place in oven to rise until double in size. This takes about 1.5-2 hours depending on if you warm the oven or not. You can warm your oven at 100°F (37.7°C) or on a proof setting if your oven has one. It is not necessary to use a warmed oven, it just helps it to rise faster. You just need a draft-free environment for the dough to rise. Includes pictures of a dough ball after kneading and the dough ball placed in a large metal bowl for proofing. My mom’s bread recipe part 4/4 continued When dough is double in size, punch it down in the bowl. Now you can shape the bread into whatever size/shape you want. See below. After shaping, cover the dough with a towel. Let rise in the (warm) oven for about an hour. Bake at 425°F (218.3°C) for 10 minutes. Turn oven down to 350°F (176.7°C) and bake for another 10 minutes or until light brown. While baking, sprinkle/spray dough with water a few times — this will help the bread develop a crusty top. Shaping the dough When I make rolls, I split the dough in half. Then I slam one half of the dough on the counter repeatedly to lengthen it and get more of the air bubbles out. Then I cut the dough into six pieces and roll each one into a ball. Place on a cookie sheet sprinkled with semolina (optional). Repeat with the second half of the dough. I use a sharp knife and make an X on each roll. Also, I make baguettes by using a three baguette form/pan I bought from Sur La Table (local? kitchenware store) years ago. I split the dough into thirds and slam each one on the counter like above. I roll into a baguette shape and place in the form. With a sharp knife, make slashes in the dough. King Arthur flour company has several videos on YouTube demonstrating how to shape the dough into different loaves as well.

This is completely unsolicited, but I saw the chicken tab and was reminded of a recipe from my mom for chicken cacciatore I found stashed away in some old files I had. Definitely one of my favorite dishes for special occasions growing up.
Recipe for chicken cacciatore: 2.5-3 lbs chicken (cut up into pieces of breast, thigh, etc) 2 14oz cans of tomatoes 2 medium onions 1 8oz can of tomato sauce 3-5 cloves of garlic, minced 1-2 bell peppers, cut up 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 teaspoons each of dried oregano and basil 1 teaspoon salt 0.25 cup dry white wine 0.5 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed 0.25 teaspoon pepper In a large skillet, heat oil and cook the onions until almost tender. Add the garlic and cook a few minutes longer until tender. Remove from pan and set aside. You may need to add more olive oil to skillet. Brown chicken over medium heat about 15 minutes, turning pieces to brown evenly. Place onions/garlic back in skillet over the chicken. Combine the tomatoes, tomato sauce, peppers, herbs, salt, and pepper. Pour over the chicken and onions in the pan. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in white wine and cook *uncovered* over low heat for about 15 minutes or until chicken is tender (turning over occasionally). Serve with white rice or artisan bread.

Went and got a Mediterranean “pita” wrap for dinner. Really fucking good shit.
A wrap with panini press grill marks on the tortilla (not pita like they say it is). Inside is falafel, hummus, tzatziki, some sort of house tahini based sauce, Arab pickles, lettuce, onion, and tomatoes. The wrap rests on some foil packaging and has a bit taken out of one of the ends.
