Absolutely.
The late 5th Edition "Vampire Counts" list was the only one where a Vampire was mandatory. (I might have to double check to ge sure...) I think the 6th edition "back of the book" list was the best one, though.

Modern 40k doesn't feel like "my dude and his army" like old 40k did.
And to an extent I feel that with Age of Sigmar too, though the "Anvil of Apotheosis" rules help change that some.

Nah, that mission really helped my command's bottom line. I came out of it with just one damaged unit. Would have only had to pay for armor, but a stupid boxcar got me. (From a dead unit, with only a single damage to roll.)
