He settled on Jungkook's face. His wide eyes that shifted between the journal and the book, the thick eyelashes that framed them. His cheek, flushed and smooth, save for the smallest dimpling of skin that appeared when he concentrated. Like his mind was too tied up to concern itself with perfection. That damn dimple! It alone would send Taehyung to an early grave.

Jungkook didn't bother heeding his request. "You sure are whining like a juniper." "A what?" He pulled back on the reins, stopping just before the mustang was in eyesight. "You ever seen a juniper tree?" "Yeah?" "Exactly. They're everywhere, growing in all sorts of odd directions. Like they don't know where to put their limbs." Taehyung stared at him blankly, and Jungkook rubbed at the headache forming behind his damp brow. This boy was dead from the neck up.

almost done with the first chapter of the new #taekookau we’re working on 👀 here’s a little snippet:
"Thank you for coming on such short notice." The foreman gave Jungkook a pointed look, nodding to the empty chair. Jungkook sucked the insides of his cheeks between his teeth and joined them. "And on a Sunday of all days..." The other man's eyes shifted to Jungkook, but Jungkook kept his trained on the gold cross hanging from the foreman's ruddy neck. "You're both here for the same thing," he continued, looking between the pair. "I take it you've been acquainted?" "No, sir," the man finally spoke, voice low. "Well," —the foreman tugged his ostentatious belt buckle over his belly-"This here is..." He stuttered over his attempts, gesturing to the newcomer. "You know what? Why don't you say it?" "Kim Taehyung," he offered, glancing over to Jungkook again. This time, Jungkook met his eye. "Right! Kim!" The foreman smiled, upper lip disappearing into his thick mustache. "Kim, this is JK. Done work for me for years. He's a man you can tie to." "Jeon Jungkook," Jungkook said quietly. Taehyung nodded, an unspoken understanding between them. His lips curled into the slightest smile.

first look at the upcoming historical for today's #wipwednesday ✨ intentionally leaving this a bit vague but hopefully you can feel the ~*vibes*~

Specks of dust floated in the beam of sunlight that shone through a clouded window. The rounded toes of Jungkook's boots rested in the rectangle of yellow it left on the greying carpets. Leather-cuffed forearms crossed over his chest, he leaned against the peeling wallpaper plastering the small office. A steady ticking echoed from a clock hung on the wall opposite him. Jungkook lazily raised his gaze. The slow-moving hands were just visible from under the wide brim of his hat. After the noisemaker made a full rotation around the clock's face, Jungkook's attention fell to the unoccupied desk in the center of the room. On one side: a cushy armchair, saddle leather worn and cracked on its seat. Two smaller, less assuming chairs sat on the other side, pulled out slightly to welcome their visitor. Jungkook refused the invitation. Today's newspaper was left open atop the desk, obscuring the dents and notches Jungkook knew were embedded in the wood beneath. His head tilted slightly as he made out the upside-down headline. [REDACTED] He scoffed, leaning his head back against the wall. His hat tilted forward, falling over his closed eyes. Somewhere outside the office, a train whistled.

He carefully brought the cup to his lips and blew gently before taking a sip. Wordlessly, he slid the cup across the tent. Seokjin rolled over onto his side and took it mindlessly, a small smack of his tongue and two creases between his brows the only interruption to his monologue. While the paladin and the tea steamed, the cleric returned to what he did best: healing. He loosened the ties of his tunic and pulled his wounded arm through the widened opening. He moved slowly; too fast and that sharp pain would have him biting back words that displeased Selûne.
