Anime and politics are my shit

Bring me my glaive! Where is riboku? It is time to conquer all of china
Um I said that. Cory would have to run as a moderate. And would have to wrestle the spot from someone that embodies the role better

A moderate could possibly win the primary but in a close election where Middle East chaos is in the public psyche. The current dem stance hurts not help

You don’t have to say Israel is a racist settler colonial apartheid state, wear the scarf join a protest and promise the abolition of the state of Israel

That could win a primary but I admit that ain’t it for winning

I will admit appealing to them doesn’t win the general election audience

But if you can’t appeal to them and you aren’t a moderate you aren’t winning a primary

And there is a way to appeal to both by saying you will end the wars, follow the US humanitarian law, and end foreign lobbying

Also you cannot ignore that a lot of what contributed to the public not being as left wing on Gaza was the fact Biden was doing it and his position becomes the default position of half of America

With no party leader debate will be more free and I don’t think the dem base will like what they see

So in summary: in a scenario where Gaza is still a live issue by 2027

1) The dem stance on foreign policy is terrible with working class voters

2) you cannot win a dem primary with that stance while being in the progressive or center progressive lanes.

Now on to Cory I believe he’s boxed out of the progressive/center progressive “lane” (how he ran in 2020) his only avenue is the moderate lane because Pip voters and media will not be forgiving on arms sales votes.

He’d have to wrestle the moderate lane from people who fit that role more naturally

Progressives in a primary (Pip) and the general are indeed two different things. In fact I think all of them voted for Kamala and see the choice between trump and Kamala on Gaza the way you and I do

I was saying that the dem stance was terrible for winning working class voters in a general
November 22, 2024 at 5:54 PM
I didn’t type that as a serious argument that trump will be better for Gaza. Just that that is how an average swing voter looks at these kinds of things in a two party system

Political organization that want to win need to accept that that is how voters think
