How he was going to make it easy for Bonnet. Then came the kiss. A fiery, victorious kiss, unlike anything they had ever done before. With every movement, Bonnet felt his soul set on fire, especially when Teach left his lips to trail down his chin. The lover's kiss danced until it stopped, and Bonnet knew that it was bound to happen—anytime now. He would finally join Teach. There, in the darkness, they would be together ....

There was something comical in the way Teach nodded at Bonnet's response-like he was seriously in awe of the idea. "Hm. Evil," he continued. "Yes. That word got thrown around so easily." "B-Because it is obvious! You killed people, I have n-no idea how many! And ..." "Are tigers evil, Stede?" "Eh?" There was silence between them-until Teach lifted his hands. "Yeah. Tigers. You know, those really big cats? There used to be plenty in this region. But humans hunted them, turning them into carpets in the living room. Whoa! Like that." The man tried to mimic the way those poor tigers were spread on the floor, but he soon returned to being serious: "But are tigers evil, Stede? For feasting on someone's goat? For killing?" "That is certainly a different thing!"
