So Github will break, as it is IPv4 only (unless they get their act together).

I never understood why so many men associate with imagery of predatory animals.

My idealized version of my own masculinity is best represented by a tree. Patient. Immensely endurant. Self-sufficient. Unbothered by trivial, ephemereal affairs. Innately kind to the world around it.

I don't want […]

I don't know why I got this coffee. I remembered it being really not great from last year, it's still really not great. They didn't miraculously start making great coffee. Have I learnt nothing? #fosdem2026

Your bank is probably funding fossil field and #climatecollapse.

Ethical Consumer reports that high street banks have *increased* their investments in the past few years.

"Despite adopting policies in previous years on 'net zero' and other #climate commitments, in 2024, global banks walked […]

This weekend is #fosdem. I'm not going, but fortunately I can get much the same experience by printing a sign that says "this room is full" sticking it on my door, then sitting in the hallway and streaming talks...

Another thing in Slack i find grating and makes me wonder how people can consider it the "gold standard of enterprise communication" or whatever: emoji reactions.

You can add custom emojis, OK that's neat, Matrix still can't do it (it will eventually, it's highly requested and some clients […]

Is this still the time to buy a #SteamDeck?
Should one get something else and slap #bazziteos on it?
Or just wait for the next iteration of the Deck to come out?

What are the odds #peterthiel heard his pal Musk pretending he had played #bioshock and decided that this Andrew Ryan character sounded swell and based and that he should be more like him?

Because the parallels between Thiel's public stupidity, his laughable teenage Ayn Rand fanboyism, and the […]

I love the idea of RoundSync, the project that makes the power of Rclone available as an Android app.

In practice it's terrible and never works, has no concept of usability and just bluntly throws all the rclone options at you without a second thought.

But, cool idea.

Has anyone ever got HDMI-CEC to do what they want?

It seems like in all the years it's been around / I've been using it, it's only worked OK at best.

Random source switching is a new one on me. Possibly because on top of this, this projector has Google TV built-in, which on the face of it […]

The opening picture of Bovino and his thugs in this Guardian article is incredible.
One leader and everyone in masks. This is supposed to be "law enforcement" but they look like comic book villains, something out of Barman: Arkham City.

How shady does this look? A Firefox add-on from "Developer" called "Wallet" that has the word Meta Mask in its description and a similar looking fox for a logo. Sheesh.

This Salon article distills very well something I've been trying to put in cogent terms: Trump is authoritarian, but is he fascist in thought? (He is in actions, that's not being questioned).

It's clear the man has no intellect to speak of, no curiosity or coherent ideology: he believes in […]

Starting to wonder, what's the likelihood Trump does not realise Greenland is not the size of Africa, as the Mercator map projection would lead you to think, but much, much smaller, the size of Alaska and California put together?

This much becomes obvious when […]

This immediately puts cows as a species on par with only a few animals who use tools. It proves a much higher level of intelligence that previously assumed.
