They're permanent, basically. Like I find having the skill of having Sonic move faster underwater is a must have skill

So on the far left of the overworld, there's a shop where you can customize and buy skills. To get most of the skills, you need to do the challenges, like a bigger boost gauge like what I have in the video. A lot of them are a big help when completing levels quickly

Yeah, hopefully, that skip helps you out a bit with getting S rank on that level. I think what you really need to do is get S ranks to use the fastest path (which is usually the upper path) , do tricks and finish the tricks, and reach the end with a bunch of rings

No worries! As the more you play, your eyes get used to the speed, and you start remembering routes. I have a good and easy skip for you in Seaside Hill to do to help reach S rank in that level if needed

Overall fun, I've played the original port of Generations, and I can definitely tell the controls for it are 100% better in the remaster. Planet Wisp Act 1 challenges can kiss my ass still, though. Honestly, this game made me want an Unleashed port even more. I love the fast boost games.
