Mainly just using to follow vtuber stuff
And watched The Breakfast Club!
Need to get through more of my Criterion releases, figured this was a good place to start.
8.5/10, they ruined a good tomboy-ish character towards the end.
January 30, 2026 at 9:48 AM
Also watched Full Metal Jacket!
Crazy that the more memorable parts are all in the first half. Second half was still pretty good though.
8/10 for me, not much more to say about it honestly.
January 30, 2026 at 6:13 AM
Watched Wonder Man!
The newest MCU project that's nearly divorced from the entire universe (except for Trevor Slattery, who's expanded upon very well here), it's a cool way to look at the wider world outside of actual heroes.
8.5/10, I'd love to see more of these two together.
January 30, 2026 at 12:33 AM
Also played Final Fantasy II!
A weird one for sure, the levelling system is done through excessive battling using each weapon and magic type. It's... fine, but I just steamrolled with Ultima after getting it towards the end.
6/10 for me, never wanna level that way again.
January 27, 2026 at 10:56 AM
Oh it's absolutely Shrek's fault
Allegedly people would get assigned to work on the movie as a punishment back when it was in development.
January 26, 2026 at 8:26 PM
Watched The Prince of Egypt!
Man, Dreamworks was really on to something, and they just never did it again. Powerful stuff, gorgeous animation, really the whole nine yards. It's just some CG work that hasn't really aged well, but I'll forgive a nearly 30 year old movie for that.
9/10 as well.
January 26, 2026 at 8:27 AM
Watched Takopi's Original Sin!
They finally put out a dub, and it's just as heartwrenching as when I read the manga. And the anime even enriches the whole thing too, like goddamn. And it's a new studio too I think? I'll be keeping an eye on them.
9/10, thank you, pi!
January 25, 2026 at 7:03 PM
Yeah, that's totally valid, I get that. I think I have to really, really love that game if I'm gonna do that personally.
January 24, 2026 at 6:54 AM
I kinda get that, but I think it'll depend for me. Like I'm part of an NSO family plan so I didn't have to pay for the Zelda upgrades, but I might just upgrade for Mario Wonder and not deal with double dipping.
I don't think I have any others that have a Switch 2 edition tbh.
January 24, 2026 at 5:31 AM
I have Prime 4 on Switch 2 and I'm pretty sure it's all on cartridge
I'm assuming that it's similar to black cart GBC games in that it registers whether it's on the original system or the follow-up in order to activate the upgrades.
January 23, 2026 at 3:38 AM
I got it on 4K a while back, and I just got a new monitor, so I figured it was a good way to break it in
January 22, 2026 at 2:32 PM
Also watched The Super Mario Bros. Movie!
It's Illumination, it's not too bad, though I can't say I'm a fan of all the characters' expressions.
7.5/10 for me, I'm certainly interested in the Mario Galaxy movie.
January 22, 2026 at 7:18 AM
Watched All You Need is Kill today!
The second adaptation of the light novel, it uses a 2D-esque 3D animation style to bring it to life, and focuses on Rita as the main character instead.
8/10, I thought it was a really fun time loop story, I gotta read the book eventually though.
January 22, 2026 at 5:34 AM
In keeping with comedies, I also watched Blazing Saddles!
Very irreverent, lots of great physical humor, definitely worth a watch (even if it can be a bit uncomfortable at times, though that's kind of the point)
8.5/10 for me, I should watch more Mel Brooks movies too.
January 20, 2026 at 12:37 PM
Decided to rewatch Monty Python and the Holy Grail since I got the 4K steelbook in!
Of course it's a 10/10, it's an absolute classic
I do need to watch more Python stuff though.
January 20, 2026 at 8:29 AM
Finished reading My Senpai is Annoying through the volume release!
Still a comfy romcom series that's very wife-pilled at the end, and I love it.
8/10, please commission more season for the anime
January 19, 2026 at 7:54 AM
Played the original Final Fantasy through the Pixel Remaster collection!
Cool start, spell slots instead of MP is interesting, the time loop narrative is kinda weird but I dig it. I used a guide too tbh
7/10 for me, definitely see the appeal, though its age does show quite a bit.
January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM
The other was Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary.
I'm not the biggest Wing fan (I prefer G Gundam of the early post-UC works), but this movie is still pretty cool regardless. Good Christmas movie
8/10
January 14, 2026 at 5:52 AM
Watched the Gundam triple feature in theaters!
It started with two Iron-Blooded Orphans works, being Urdr-Hunt Special Edition: Path of the Little Challenger and Wedge of Interposition.
6/10 for both, the former is just mobile game cutscenes stitched together and the latter is an anniversary short
January 14, 2026 at 5:50 AM
Played through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33!
I will agree, it's a very good game. However, it's not really the turn-based "savior" some made it out to be, and I didn't vibe with it as much because of the mandatory parry mechanic.
8/10 for me, please play more (and better) turn-based RPGs, I beg you.
January 13, 2026 at 6:01 AM
Saw Lupin the IIIrd: The Immortal Bloodline in theaters!
It's pretty crazy, a remote island with creatures and former foes that's basically out to kill Lupin and gang.
For finales, it's not too bad, even if it ended up being a prequel to Mystery of Mamo in the end.
7.5/10 for me
Zenigata dub soon?
January 6, 2026 at 4:06 AM
And watched Lupin the IIIrd: Fujiko's Lie!
The last one dubbed before the movie comes out tomorrow, it brings the focus back to Fujiko for an adventure.
This might be my favorite of the short films tbh, she ends up being a more interesting character usually.
8/10 for me.
January 5, 2026 at 12:52 AM
First up, continuing the Koikeverse, it's Lupin the IIIrd: Goemon's Blood Spray!
This time focusing on Goemon Ishikawa, the stoic swordsman of the Lupin gang as he faces off against a beast of a man.
Yeah, it's ok, probably about the same as Jigen's work imo.
7.5/10 since there's no weird subplot
January 4, 2026 at 1:44 AM
I guess this was my last one for the year.
I don't know if I'll decide on my favorites of each category, but I'll be sure to start a new thread as soon as I finish something new.
