Writer, artist (on occasion), and Penguins fan. I make horrible things happen to imaginary people. Pro Oxford comma. Pro em dash.

I've been writing seriously since 2007, but only feel like I got a handle on things within the last few years. He/Him.

My interest in modern gaming is at an all-time low. I mostly just play old stuff these days. But a "console" that has easy access to tons of retro-style indie games is certainly something I'd be interested in. I'm just in "wait and see" mode right now, but the Steam Machine has potential.

NO! That sucks. In a better society you could sue the hell out of companies that do that sort of thing. I'd bet anything, if they were completely honest, "accidental" purchases by minors are baked into their business plan.

I mostly gave up on modern gaming altogether. There are still a ton of great indie games. And I literally put in around 500 hours combined into 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘥 and 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘥𝘰𝘮. But even Nintendo managed to drive me away, with predatory pricing and a list of other stuff.

I'll do my taxes with crayon on construction paper before I willingly feed my info into AI bullshit.

I remember when Adobe bought Macromedia. Hated it. Knew it'd be bad. I honestly didn't expect them to shelve the entire format within a year or two, like they did, though.

Ha! I always think of Quark, which is apparently still around. Weird. But I rarely messed with that stuff. My background is in animation and illustration. Print formatting was someone else's job. But when I started writing in the mid '00s, I had to start figuring it out.

I just hope the files stay as small as they are raw. Vellum does some auto-adjustment stuff when you compile. I'll see, eventually. But Vellum is a big reason I switched to Mac in the first place. Compiling in Scrivener can be a headache. And Word... I switched to Scrivener to draft for many reasons

This workaround further complicates the auto-generated ToC. But I think it'll work.

My WIP is either going to be one big-ass book with four parts, two smaller books with two parts, or four novellas. I'll cross that bridge later. But I'm glad there's a way to put in custom headers with tiny files.

I've seen a few people saying "Oh, the Penguins hot start is trailing off." No, like half the team is on IR. Injuries are a part of the game, sure. But what team wouldn't stumble a little playing an AHL roster—even with Crosby & Malkin there?

I switched from PC to Mac to be able to use it natively. Not only Vellum, of course. I switched my entire illustration, graphic design, etc. pipeline off Adobe "before it was cool." Procreate was one of those things. But Vellum is a great program. Great customer service, too.

At least for me, everything he does upsets me, because it proves all that stuff most of us were taught as children about the golden rule, being honest, etc. is all bullshit. Despite what we were told, being as big a piece of shit as possible is actually what society rewards.

Someone made an edit with updated, scientifically accurate raptors. I don't think showing them as giant murder chickens makes it any less threatening.

I remember Tales From the Darkside, but I don't remember watching much of it. I think Monsters was on Saturday night for us, so that's why I always got to watch it.

Had to look it up. IMDB says it ran from '88 - '90. So I would;ve been around 10 years old when it first aired.

My mom and I used to watch this together all the time when I was little.

I'm looking in your comments (on the page) and think I have the answer. But for the sake of clarity. Say I use one of these fonts as chapter headers in a book. Would the license agreement allow me to create a modofied cover logo in the same style, to keep the motif consistent throughout?

Wow. I'm in no financial position to be making impulse purchases, and I'm pretty handy in Affinity Designer, but that's too good to pass up.

A creationist textbook publisher once tried to scrub 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 from the text, replacing it with 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, to weasel the book into public schools. But they messed up the auto-replace and ended up with 𝘤𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴. So I won't be shocked if 𝘋𝘑𝘰𝘦 𝘉𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘱 is all over those files.
