From experience I can say that primary schools are the very heart of small communities.
Take away the school and it’s associated activities and the community no longer has a point of focus for both old, who went to the school themselves, and young people rearing a new generation.
Don’t do it!

Sad to say, but it has been an accident waiting to happen for quite some time.

For the future I propose Rory Stewart as the new Director General.

Groucho said it: “I wouldn’t belong to any club that would have me as a member”.

Mark Twain is credited with the saying: “Lies, damned lies and statistics”.

Trump lies so much, so often, that he has gone far beyond anything dear old Mark Twain ever dreamt possible.

Animals, all sorts, are more intelligent than most people realise. Whatever their form they exploit their environment to the best of their ability.
It just takes time and understanding for human observers to appreciate what they are doing.

Fireworks night used to fun social evening but relatively cheap imported fireworks have over the past few years turned it into a menace.
Perhaps now is the time to limit firework displays to professionally organised events only?

What problem? No one has previously mentioned a problem; boss man says things have never been so good.

Those of us alive at the time of WWII know that times are not now as good as they once were. We consider whether all those young lives lost were worth what big businesses has made the current world.
Nazism was immoral horrific and intolerable but what we currently have is not equitable and just.

I certainly believe that the standard of living was better for the majority of the population some years ago.
I was born during WWII and have lived through the rise and fall of standards since then.

A forced pose. Look where his eyes are looking. A man completely without sympathy for human suffering.

Couldn’t help noticing the preponderance of very large air burst explosions this year.
I suspect dogs sense the air pressure change as well as the sound they make; either way they terrify them.
Time for tighter legislation and control.

Could it be that Scottish prison officers still recognise the importance of their employment despite being heavily overworked?
November 6, 2025 at 8:37 AM
What he really thinks is that an independent Scotland will make England pay heavily to take their nuclear waste and derelict nuclear submarines and Scots may say they don’t want nuclear submarines based in Scotland anyway.
Oh dear, best just play for time and leave that Green chap to sort it out.
