📆 New 30-day challenge!!

Some big progress on ROCKETPUNK 🚀 over the last couple of days - infinite level generation, new tiles, improvements to movement, implementation of background (not the final bg, more of a proof of concept)

THE... GAME... IS... FINISHED! 🥳

Finally, after ~143 days, several hundred hours of work, it is finally complete (version 1 at least 😅)

Not the most interesting tasks today, but got some stuff done I've been putting off - namely: a fully functional settings menu 🛠️ (why did this take so long WAAH..) and sound effects for more than just the gun..

🗓️ Day 19/30 of consistently posting progress on my game

🛠️ Did a lot of backend work aujourd'hui - fixed new game loading bug and added correct navigation tiles to all 30 rooms for pathfinding (fingers crossed it works...)

Also putting together some stuff for a devlog 👀🔜

Decided to give my game a go at 2x scale, interesting to see the enemies up close + off-camera bullets add a layer of jeopardy 😰

Making up for some lighter days with some quantum leaps today - (maybe not quantum... but close enough 😅)

~12-14 new rooms, can now replay after dying, fixed lots of small bugs 🐛, + continuous music...

Enemies can now drop chests 😱. I'm also thinking of implementing a system where I have golden chests in addition to the existing silver one. You will only be able to get the rarer, stronger guns from the golden chests...

Lots to report today, added in two new enemies (Crimsonfang and Freezesnipe) which are related to existing enemies (Kindlefang and Glitchsnipe respectively). Implemented very quickly with no obvious bugs (yet... 🥲)

Some BIIGG OL' PROGRESS today 💥... Rustling up lots of new things! Quick summary: Guns use weighted probabilities and have unique effects (need playtesting for balance). Bullet damage varies...

Started using custom resources to streamline the collectable item system, including for guns... Think this should make thinks a lot more scalable, which is music to my ears 🎶

Thought I'd throw in the player's run cycle because why not? (who knew .gifs counted as a video?)
