Don't bother finishing it. Very disappointing ending

Oh god Robert Carlyle... That makes me think of Once Upon a Time, which while it wasn't cancelled before it could finish, deserves to come back with a different last season

He really has lost everything that made him special. He can't even tweet bigoted shit anymore like he used to. He can't make nicknames. He can't insult his opponents. He really does just not have a brain anymore. This is the face of the Republican party

and to those who aren't familiar with Embark, their first game "The Finals" has fully AI generated voice lines from the announcers. Afaik they got real voice actors to say some lines and then, with their permission, trained the ai to say the rest. Cool, they got permission, still sounds like shit

I hate how weird they are with describing it though. They don't say "the final product doesn't have AI", they say "the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team" the same way everyone who uses ai is like "well i put in the prompt, so its technically from me"

And there's also such an obvious critique of capitalism in there that a lot of people never pick up on. Curly's decision to try to "fix" what Jimmy did on his own is a direct result of Pony Express policies that spread the blame among the crew in an attempt to avoid responsibility.

It matters. To the narrative, to the specific characters, to the themes the game is trying to present. At every turn, you're reminded of just how much it matters. Every bad thing in the story stems from what Jimmy did to her. It's so tragic, and so realistic despite it being a sci-fi story.

There's something about the way it handles sensitive topics like rape where it doesn't shy away from it, or try to dumb it down, but it also isn't just using it for shock. Anya doesn't go through all of that just for cheap horror, it's given so much weight in the narrative.

It's the type of game I imagine I'll look back on in the future and go "wow, I'd both love and hate to play another game like that". If anybody has anything similar, I'm open to suggestions.
