This is not the time to be walking on eggshells. We’re walking through ruins now, the deliberate desolation of the temple of our ancestors: self government, sovereignty of the Law, generosity to the poor, welcome to the stranger, and justice without mercy to the tyrant.
Remember, all the people you step on while you’re on your way up…you get to step on them again on your way down!

AI will make us collectively smarter.
And individually dumber, very much like the internet.
Not coincidentally, it will also continue the trend of making us collectively richer, and individually poorer.
I could explain why, but it involves math, and nobody will pay me for it anyway.

The Oval Office looks like a 19th Century whorehouse.

Good God Trump is an absolute pestilence of a man. Disgusting

Spoiler: they’re not going to get those Epstein files.
November 18, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Worst ever Trump defense “Well, Epstein was a Democrat, so it’s their problem..”
So only Republicans can investigate other Republicans? That could backfire.
Plus, I’m not sure anyone has pointed this out yet, but Trump was also a Democrat during most of that time.

We’re going to win this fight, and restore our democracy and the rule of law, as we have done many times before.
They wont give up, of course, they never have, and in time yet another generation will be called upon to lay it all on the line.

Climate change will not end our civilization . Instead, it will continually lower our standard of living. This happens in an orderly society by inflation.
Things cost more, people have less.
When the price of essentials become too much, it gets disorderly. And then the 4 Horsemen ride. Heads up.

I can’t help but think that the erosion of the rule of law and the sense of impunity with which these motherfuckers murder fishermen and enrich themselves had some genesis in Obama’s decision to give a free pass to the torturers, finance scammers, and war profiteers of the Bush era.

Maybe we could distribute some of those thousands of pounds of food packs sitting in warehouses that were supposed to keep starving Sudanese children alive, now that they’re dead.

Contrary to all the commercials running now, I highly recommend just regular Medicare. No network, no pre-approval, everyone takes it.
I’ve had it for for 8 years now and only got sick once, after eating some purple berries for 6 or 7 weeks, thinking they might keep me alive.

Raised on Heinlein, Asimov, Pohl, and Vance, I’ve been inspired by manned space exploration since Alan Shepard’s first flight.
But advances in robotics, sensing, cameras, and AI, have made manned space exploration impractical. Our bodies belong to this earth. Our machines can own the universe.

I love my country, and damn it’s hard watching her being looted, stripped, and everything I’m proud of taken away.
It’s a little bit like watching my mother get the shit kicked out of her by my father, ya know, it’s a painful memory…

I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time

The world is heating up, the country has become an oligarchy, but this time of year something comes around that is so nearly divine that if only for a moment, it transcends the muck we wade in every day.
And that is a perfectly ripe Bartlett pear, truly the Queen of Fruits.

Watched the great Canadian ad quoting Reagan and it’s a perfect illustration of what Democrats fail to do, over & over: take a position and EXPLAIN why it’s good policy, like Reagan did.
Stop looking at polls and LEAD. On immigration as our greatest strength, wealth tax, diversity, rule of law.

I spent the morning knapping. Turning fine grey Texas flint into blades. I’m not very good at it, but it’s meditative.
It struck me that our entire global civilization was bootstrapped from that flint edge, everything we’ve built, resting at the bottom of it all on that first tool.

Ferlinghetti lived to be 102. He wrote this in 2007, when he was 88.

Trump voting farmers getting hammered every which way from Trump policies, it almost seems like he’s purposely trying to put them out of business. They’re baffled.
Maybe they’ll figure it out when the hedge fund guys are bidding on their farms at the bankruptcy auction.

People rightly blaming Republicans for ending health care subsidies and their rates going up to $1000 a month and more.
But why are the insurance companies charging these ridiculous rates getting a free pass?

It is the one unelected branch of our tripartite system, the judges, that will decide whether we remain a nation of laws.
So far, they have been steadfast, with the exception of the Supreme Court.
Those 6 judges will torch our republic if not stopped,

Alright, I got a beef in addition to the saw; ‘limited only by your imagination’, a very severe limitation, in fact.
“Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.” But squirrels find their nuts by smell. So a blind squirrel would find more nuts!
If he didn’t kill himself falling out of a tree first.

I have survived 4 wars; the war on poverty, the war on drugs, the war on Christmas, and the ongoing war on woke. Where’s my parade? Can I get a simple,
“Thank you for your service, you broke ass, drug fueled, bad Santa, woke motherfucker?” Anyone?

You won’t hear any politicians say this, but over our history, we’ve done pretty well by open borders.
