I don't know enough about the City of Toronto Act but it seems clear that stronger/complete independence/charter city legislation is the sine qua non of unlocking future prosperity for the City across multiple dimensions (it was the top vote-getter in a recent Star poll on city-building ideas).

If Zach Edey is at all close to the guy he was during that 11 game stretch, how much does that change the Grizzlies future? Is it crazy to think they could even be pretty good-ish (3rd tier contender) in the West once they (hopefully) get guys back in the new year? (Ja obviously a huge ???)

Wemby-Harper-Castle looks like the makings of a championship-level core already. Do you think anyone else is part of that group (noting Fox's age and even more so, fit)? They also only have 1 more year after this before Victor gets expensive - what would you do to maximize their potential outcomes?

Watching ER for the first time and in a first season episode (would have aired in '95) 2 different doctors are smoking inside an office in the hospital while waiting for a meeting to begin. Wild.

Found out the fun way this was happening - after arriving at Ossington station - and was dumfounded at how poorly organized it was as well, just herded like cattle aimlessly onto the sidewalk. Saw the buses lining up on Concord but nary a one actually came in 7 minutes before I gave up and took 94.

Given your perspective on Shai enabling higher-level team-building than Jokic given his positional defense, wondering what you think the impact of an (extremely) hypothetical SGA/Hartenstein for Jokic/Murray trade would be on both teams? (Money isn't quiet right but ignoring that for now).

Nate - with how fast rosters turn over now have you given any further thought to your "you gotta pay the guy or you're screwed" perspective"? By the time Joel's extension kicks in he and Maxey (+ maybe Lowry/Oubre) are going to be the only 6ers still on the team from the season before he signed it

Sure that in 1985 little 10 year old Erick was constantly bothering his parents to go out for dim sum in Dubai and was crushed every year on December 7th when they told him no.

There's a good Kenji NYT recipe recently where in addition to folds he does a scallion pancake style roll and flatten, that was a huge game changer for me in terms of getting those flaky layers.

Thoughts on Jamal Shead? His shooting has fallen off a cliff of late but for a tiny guard he is absolutely diming guys up in the paint for high value assists - would recommend checking out his assists on Synergy, it's a great watch (multiple wild paint dimes in the Lakers game alone).

But then how could the mayor claim that "It means no TTC fares increase for the third year running at $3.35 – the same price as 2023. That saves the average family $300 a year."
I'm sure this saves people money in the short run, though that cost savings assumption seems super dubious.

That's fair, CMB is a rookie and the young SGs all have foibles. Maybe the better point is these mixed groups result in only 1-2 of the fringier guys being needed on the floor at any one time, and in more limited roles where they aren't getting exposed.

They have 11.5 guys who can play and can get to a ton of mix and match lineups that make sense bookended by Poeltl/Mamu and IQ/Shead with 1-2 of RJ/Scottie/BI and then CMB and the collection of shooting guards, it's pretty fun.
