The second TRO blocking deployment hasn't been lifted yet but it seems like it's a matter of paperwork because the ruling authorizes federalization and thus deployment. The feds just have to ask for it to be lifted. Spent like an hour trying to figure this out and explain it to laypeople.

I wish you'd talked about workers outside of military/police who are working and not getting paid right now. Food and agriculture inspectors are showing up to work. Traveling inspectors are paying for their travel out of pocket (and these jobs don't pay well). Even National Zoo keepers are working.

Yeah, unfortunately, the gov received a memo this morning outlining a federal takeover of the Oregon National Guard with the intent of deploying troops for 60 days. Zero indication of when it's going to happen or how, but it's for real and the state AG is suing for a TRO.

He also seems to have no idea that he's not remotely in Coates' intellectual weight class when it comes to these discussions.
