It’s not true. Tons of retirees move out of the US to others countries specifically because they can live much better on just social security (Portugal, Spain, countries Southeast Asia, etc).

I see this in real-time every morning as my husband doesn't drink coffee. After 27 years, I'm still baffled.

In theory, Senators will hold a stronger line. They need state-wide votes, no gerrymandering etc. I also assume that big-pharma and other lobbysts will have their backroom say.
