Are there serious modern planners that think counterforce would work?
I'm not even remotely an expert, but the idea that your enemy would see a thousand warheads heading towards their silos and not launch before they lose their arsenal just strikes me as nuts.

I've migrated from Google to Kagi. It costs money, and isn't perfect, but over a few months of use I prefer it to Google, Bing, et al.

Handsome man demanded love right outside my apartment. He was purring so loudly.

The earned income tax credit primarily benefits people that don't earn enough to pay taxes (or pay minimal tax).

Your country may be different, but in the United States there is a class of so called "refundable tax credits" that can act as effectively cash payments, including for those that don't earn enough to pay taxes.

I used to work at a lab in Pittsburgh, and in the distance perched high on a hill was a strange tower with horn antennas. Tracking it down and reading about it was how I learned about Long Lines. Bonus: there's also an old Nike Missile air defense command site complete with radome outside the city.

I'm sure this happens with Lithuanian, but the meaning of words from medieval germanic names have sometimes changed in entertaining ways. E.g Ratbald which originally was "bold ruler" but now is, y'know Rat Bald.

Oh shit, my gut answer was genuinely spot on. Though I have been there.

My work has a Bambu printer (P1S), I personally find the purpose-made software very intuitive and easy to pick up. If you're printing premade designs it's very simple. Making your own designs is harder, but Tinkercad is relatively easy to work with.

An underrated detail about this guy is that he used to go to a therapist who believed he could diagnose*demonic possession* by having you color a picture of a brain in with crayons.
Everything about him is deeply crazy

These are all simply larger or smaller infinities. Infinity divided by two is half as large but still infinite. Therefore The Hog may be smaller than The Lord but still infinite, no blasphemy needed.

Ah, but you see officer, OpenAI didn't opt out of me breaking into their server farms and pouring Mountain Dew on the GPUs!

Cute! If you like bacteriophages, you might appreciate their archea-infecting cousins. They've got all sorts of wild shapes:

A lot of people are bringing up Ken's repeated demands that opponents "Snort [his] taint." At a time like this I think it's disgusting to bring that up while he's making a genuine effort to learn and grow.

I went to a hell display at a temple in Cambodia years ago. It had very detailed sculptures of *exactly* what happened to you if you sinned in different ways.
I don't remember many of the punishments, but if you engaged in blood-sports with animals, you were chased up a thorny tree by vicious dogs.

I recently read a case study about a woman who suffered from the one common, now rare condition, bromism from contaminated well water. The title was "Bromism: alive in well"

To paraphrase William James: If you wish to upset the law that all men are insensitive assholes, you mustn't seek to show that no men are; it is enough if you prove one single wife guy.
